The term "family ministry" is relatively new in the history of the church. We’ve talked about families, developed the greatest children’s ministries, provided awesome ministry to our youth … but somehow, in the process, we left out “family”.
Oh, we cared about them, exhorted about them, and made attempts to intervene in family life. But how effectively has the church really ministered to “the family”? At CLC, we are very intentional when it comes to ministering to our families. Our goal is for every member to be well taken care of in a manner that nurtures … no matter the age or family situation.
It is our passion for everyone, from birth to adulthood, to have a place where they belong, where they are nurtured, and where they have a voice.
Further, we believe that everyone should sense God’s purpose and plan in their lives … at their particular age and life circumstance. This is why Family Ministry is so vital and why we are passionate about it.
So here is how we “walk” Family Ministry at CLC:
Family Ministries – A new facet of Family Ministries is ACTUALLY family ministry. This year we are planning outreaches and mission trips for the entire family to participate in together. We are also planning some family fun days to KEEP the family together.
It is our passion to see families growing together, loving God together, and serving God together.

Christian Life Center has partnered with other ministries for reaching our own nation, helping hurting young women through Mercy Ministries, serving thousands of needy people through the Los Angeles Dream Center, providing help for the largest children’s outreach in America at New York City’s Metro Ministries, as well as broadcasting the Gospel through the ministries of Joyce Meyer & Andrew Wommack.
And, since "the light that shines the farthest shines brightest at home", we've partnered with Chaplains for Christ to reach prisoners in Cook County, helped reach recent immigrants through YWAM in Chicago, and served the poor in our own communities through Together We Cope, PADS, and food pantries in Tinley Park, Lisle and Shorewood!
CLC is making a difference!
The first thing everyone notices when they walk into the Tinley Park auditorium is the flags – which serve as a colorful reminder each week that it’s not just about us; it’s about ‘the nations’ and all those for whom Jesus died.
Because missions is a priority, we tithe CLC’s income (the first tenth of all our tithes & offerings), plus we receive designated and sacrificial gifts for various projects.
The generosity of our members has already enabled us to provide churches for congregations in Guatemala and Turkey, two in Peru, and four in Senegal (it sounds more impressive to say that 20% of all the evangelical church buildings in Senegal were provided by CLC, and it’s true!).
We’ve supported church-planting efforts in Iraq, helped with building a Bible college in Bulgaria, provided over a dozen communities in the Amazon jungles of Peru with clean-water wells, done disaster relief in Indonesia, Turkey and Haiti, provided musical instruments for local churches in Senegal, Turkey & the Philippines, served hundreds of patients at free medical clinics in Senegal, given away hundreds of pairs of shoes to needy children in the Philippines, helped the children’s home in Brazil under Robert Wellman, and served orphanages in Zimbabwe and other African nations in partnership with Bishop Tudor Bismark, placed children’s Bibles in Turkish public schools, as well as helping fund Christian youth camps for Muslim children there and sent teams or provided leadership training in Mozambique, Mexico, Bulgaria, Guatemala, Trinidad, Brazil, Nepal, Turkey, China, Kenya, Uganda, Croatia, Romania, Great Britain, South Africa, Mongolia, Peru, Kazakhstan, Indonesia, Senegal, India, and the Philippines.
Best of all, we’ve done all of this by building great Kingdom partnerships:
