Governmental Structure
Because we are not a part of any denominational structure, we have taken great pains to insure that we do have a proper spiritual covering. While we are a pastor-led, self-governing church, we always want to remain connected to the greater Body of Christ, and we desire both accountability for our leadership and protection for our membership. Therefore, Christian Life Center is a not-for-profit corporation registered with the State of Illinois, and as such, we have trustees who are elected from our membership annually to serve the temporal and business interests of the church.
In addition, we are also served by a Pastoral Board of Directors, which is also elected annually by the membership. These Directors are each ordained ministers (after the five-fold pattern of Ephesians 4; namely, Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Pastors & Teachers) who not only have experienced, time-proven ministries in the Body of Christ, but who also have an on-going relationship with our church. They each minister here regularly, receive reports from our office monthly, and come together at least annually to review our finances, speak into the lives of our senior pastors and leadership team, and make recommendations in regard to church policy and decisions.
