Church Affiliation
We believe that the structure of the church should not be determined by culture , business practices, or even denominational traditions. For several hundred years Christianity has been divided into various denominations and movements, and while most all of them are well intentioned, we believe that the universal church cannot be institutionalized. Any religious body that exists above the local level is a temporal, man-made institution.
Denominations have been one of God’s instruments to restore Biblical truths to the Church, and they have also been one of the biggest opponents to receiving additional truth from the Lord. At CLC we are determined not to “camp” with any truth we have received, but to stay open and receptive to all truth - even as we grow in relationship with the One who said, “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life.”
We agree with those who say that what God is doing in these last days transcends denominational lines and barriers. Indeed, perhaps we should be called “trans-denominational” instead of “non-denominational” because we are not opposed to denominations. We honor them for the good work they have done and are doing. But we emphatically place our allegiance with the Head of the Church, our Lord Jesus Christ, and we submit to the authority of His infallible Word rather than the customs, traditions and creeds of man.
